Portland Family Photographer | Fall Family Session at McMenamin’s Edgefield in Troutdale

Scheduling fall family photos in Troutdale, OR means there are times where we have to brave the east winds coming from the Columbia River Gorge. This was certainly one of those times! And despite the wind gusts that made things a bit chilly, we were able to capture a huge variety of beautiful portraits in no time at all.

Depending on the age of your children, I don’t always recommend photographing in the wind. But if your family brings good attitudes, understanding and a wardrobe of warm layers, the wind can’t stop us from a cozy and beautiful time together. Luckily, locations like McMemanin’s Edgefield provide multiple beautiful backdrops and buildings/trees that help block a bit of the wind even on high speed days. Best of all, there are multiple bars and restaurants waiting for you to run into and warm up in while enjoying an after session meal or brew (and cocoa for the kids!).

If you’re looking for a custom portrait experience, I’d love to help you create exactly what you’re envisioning. I promise to help you every step of the way and get you the artwork you’ve always dreamed of so your memories are preserved for the long-haul. Please reach out if you’d like me to help you document this season for you. I’d love to work with you!
