Summer evenings in the Columbia River Gorge are truly magical. Golden hour in the Gorge is perfection. As the sun lowers, it bathes the rocky shoreline in a warm, dreamy glow. The soft light reflecting off the river creates a stunning, natural highlight in the background. It’s a beautiful backdrop for making family memories while exploring together.

We started this session just before sunset, allowing the kids to explore and adjust to a camera following them around, before settling into cozy, snuggly portraits as the light began to dip behind the hills. The result? A gallery filled with warmth, love, and natural connection.

What to Wear for a Gorge Family Session

The complement the natural tones of the Columbia River Gorge, I recommend earthy neutrals, soft blues, and warm earthy hues. Flowy dresses look stunning against the wind-swept landscape, and comfortable shoes are a must for navigating the rocky shoreline.
