Framed portraits are by far one of the best ways to display and enjoy family photos in the home. Here are some of my favorite reasons why you should consider committing to personalized artwork on your walls so they can be enjoyed daily!
Personalized Home Decor + Art Gallery
Looking to create your own art gallery? Displaying custom framed portraits on your walls acts as personalized art and home decor in your most lived-in rooms. It’s highly custom and can be designed and arranged to complement any decor style.
Pro tip: If you’re looking to frame your portraits, consider where you want your images to hang when planning your family’s attire prior to your session. It’s a good idea to pull color profiles from the room where you portraits will be displayed to create a cohesive look.
Boost Your Children’s Self-Esteem
Studies have shown that displaying family portraits in the home where children can see them daily has a positive affect on their self-esteem. When children see themselves proudly on display, it affirms that they are loved and reinforces belonging. Photos also offer memory clues and helps children establish their role in the family unit.
Designed for Longevity
Dust, scratches, sun-damage, accidental bending, etc. are all reasons why it’s a good idea to have your prints properly framed to ensure they are protected for the long-haul. Unfortunately, not all framing is created equal. There’s a vast difference in quality (and therefore photo lifespan) between a plastic Ikea frame and museum quality framing and glass. Poor framing can be damaging to your artwork. Your artwork deserves to be protected with acid-free materials that will keep them in immaculate condition for decades.
If you haven’t already, I HIGHLY encourage choosing some of your favorite portraits and getting them up on the walls in your most lived-in rooms where they can be enjoyed every day. I also offer custom framing, so feel free to reach out if you would like help creating a custom wall gallery for your home.
